(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 26, 2011) Even though this wasn’t the closest game of the week, it is the Super Bowl.
In a week 16 NADS Fantasy Football League battle, Dave's Not Here squeaked by a tough Los Cojones team by a score of 97 to 90, to win the 2011 NadsFFL Championship. Los Cojones jumped out to an 11 point lead after the Thursday night game. Dave’s Not Here took the lead by 15 points after all the Saturday morning games were complete. Los Cojones was unable to score many points Saturday because his QB Tony Romo was knocked out of the game after the 3rd play of the game. Dave’s Not Here continued to rack up the points and went ahead by 30 points after the Christmas night game. Los Cojones still had 2 players left while Dave’s Not Here still had 1 player left for Monday night. Los Cojones put in a great effort scoring 37 points Monday night but it wasn’t enough. Dave’s Not Here, who was pooping his pants, scored 14 more points to hang on and beat Los Cojones by only 7 points for the GAME OF THE WEEK.
Dave's Not Here were led to their 7 point victory by a 29 point effort from Matthew Stafford, who tore apart the San Diego Chargers defense for 373 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 5 rushing yards. With this performance, Stafford was the number 4 ranked quarterback for week 16. They also got help from a 20 point effort from Calvin Johnson, who beat the San Diego Chargers defense for 102 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
"I'm going to Disneyworld," Dave's Not Here coach Dave Galbraith said.
Los Cojones were helped out in a losing cause by a 23 point effort from Roddy White, who beat the New Orleans Saints defense for 127 receiving yards. They also got help from a 22 point effort from Larry Fitzgerald, who beat the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 105 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
"They ate our lunch," Los Cojones coach Don Wynkoop said.
Causing further embarrassment, Los Cojones could have scored 120 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Don Wynkoop left key players like Ahmad Bradshaw and his corresponding 17 points on the bench.
Dave’s Not Here finished the season in 1st place while Los Cojones finished in 2nd place.
