(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 27, 2010) In a week 16 Franchise Football: Bill Parcells League intra-divisional rivalry, The Gamblers squeaked by a tough Des Moines RoughRiders team by a score of 139.0 to 127.3, silencing a partisan crowd of 72,877.
The Gamblers were led to their 11.7 point victory by a 24.3 point effort from Dwayne Bowe, who beat the Tennessee Titans defense for 153 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. With this performance, Bowe was the number 2 ranked wide receiver for week 16. They also got help from a 18.4 point effort from Mike Wallace, who beat the Carolina Panthers defense for 104 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
"This team has finally learned how to win," The Gamblers coach Patrick Crotty said.
Des Moines RoughRiders were helped out in a losing cause by a 18.7 point effort from LeGarrette Blount, who beat the Seattle Seahawks defense for 164 rushing yards in addition to 3 receiving yards. They also got help from a 14.4 point effort from Shonn Greene, who snuck past the Chicago Bears defense for 70 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 14 receiving yards.
"We don't care about moral victories," Des Moines RoughRiders coach Terry Block said.
Des Moines RoughRiders drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 9 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16. This brings the record for The Gamblers to 7-6, and drops Des Moines RoughRiders to a record of 7-6.
